Lauren and Evan chose Martin Johnson House in La Jolla for their wedding and man oh man I’m so glad they did! Martin Johnson House is a historical little cottage nestled in the Scripps Institution of Oceanography on the UC San Diego campus in La Jolla. This gem of a venue surrounds you with cypress trees and ocean views while also having that intimate-backyard-wedding feel. Full of lots of big dancing spaces and quiet little nooks for conversation, it was absolutely perfect for the type of celebration that Evan and Lauren wanted to have.
Evan + Lauren’s wedding was full of gorgeous details, beautiful coastal views, and heartfelt moments. Lauren is a graphic designer and so every detail at their wedding was thoughtfully chosen and custom designed. The table runners, invitations, place settings, EVERYTHING–all custom made (even the gorgeous cookbook they gave to their guests as wedding favors was designed by her!!).
Also Lauren gets major points for pre-wedding entertainment. In the background while her bridesmaids were getting ready, she had on every wedding episode from Friends running on a loop. I mean could it BE any more fun?!
Knowing that Lauren is a graphic designer and that the venue was on the coast, I had a feeling that this wedding was going to be crazy beautiful, but I also found myself so completely blown away by the emotions of this day. From start to finish the day was full of joy, laughter, and such genuine love–love for each other and love pouring out for them from their family and friends. I laughed and got teary so many times throughout this day. I’m truly so excited for these two as they begin a lifelong adventure together!!
